Urine Therapy - Good Health

In the film ‘Urine: Good Health’, documentarians Cevin Soling and Eli Kabillio investigate the history of urine therapy practices, interview its modern adherents and advocates, explore the question of urine’s alleged medicinal qualities, and delve fearlessly into inquiries that many -- when confronted with the topic -- would wonder about, but few would ask.

Urine tastes “like sea-water”, according to one member of a urine therapy support group in Los Angeles, assuring viewers that drinking pee is not at all unpleasant.

“Urine, when it is first voided, is 100% sterile,” according to “naturopath” Dr. Robert Green. As it sits, urine may breed bacteria, and it is then that it takes on the unpleasant smell attributed to alleyways and public restrooms. This “Water of Life”, we are told, is capable of curing nearly anything.

“You really don’t need a diagnosis if you’re sick [...] you just drink your urine, and that will cure it”, claims Michael Maloney, New York City Fire Department Captain in an interview for the film.
“Urine is antibacterial, antiviral, and antiprotozoal -- which means [...] against parasites”, states the author of ‘Urine Therapy - It May Save Your Life’, Dr. Beatrice Bartnett (Chiroprator/Naturopath) who explains that when people are fighting off an illness, antibodies discarded in the urine significantly boost one’s immune system when re-absorbed into the system
But some in the medical community disagree.

There is also controversy within the urine therapy community as to whether it is beneficial or counter-productive to use urine other than one’s own. One urine therapy advocate advises, “If you’re visiting a country where most of the tourists develop dysentery, malaria, cholera, typhoid fever [...] as soon as [you] get to the hotel, ask the healthiest looking bell-boy for a drop of his urine, because he’s already developed resistance against the microbes in the area. His urine is the best vaccine [...]”
Other urine therapy advocates strongly disagree, believing that one can only expect positive results from one’s own urine.

Urine-drinkers seem united, however, in the idea that the medical establishment is suppressing this ancient “medicine” that threatens the therapeutic primacy of expensive pharmaceuticals.
It’s a controversy that continues to rage on unbeknownst to the general population, one which this documentary sheds light on with unflinching candor, intelligence, and absorbing pacing and cinematography. Urine: Good Health provides an entertaining introductory education to a topic that is sure to make its viewers the life of any cocktail party.

Urine Therapy And Medication

It is generally not recommended to combine urine therapy with the use of prescribed chemical, allopathic or recreational drugs.  The combination may have side effects or may be dangerous to your health.  If you are taking any form of medication, I would suggest you begin with the external application (urine massage) until you are free from all medication.  If it is not possible due to some chronic diseases, you may start with a few drops of urine internally.

Keep on observing how you and your body are reacting to the treatment.  If in doubt, do consult a doctor for medical advice.

This is from Martin Lara, author of "Uropath" page 155.  "Although I don't reccomend mixing medicines with urine therapy, there have been cases of individuals who were very ill at home or in a hospital - some dying from AIDS, cancer and other diseases--- who were receiving chemotherapy when they decided to start using their urine.  These people had nothing to loose and they took a chance of drinking their urine while they were taking medications.  In these cases, something truly amazing happened: urine seemed to be such a powerful stimulant to the immune system that medications were completely neutralized and expelled from the body in a matter of days.  These individuals reported miraculous improvement over a few days.  The headaches, pains in the body, diarrhea, vomiting, lack of appetitie and physical decay afflicting them ususally improved in a few days.  And simultaneously, these people developed a tremendous appetitie.  These people stated that they felt an immediate improvement when they started using their urine.  In many cases, they recovered so quickly that their doctors were completely baffled.  In a few days, they went home where they could resume their sleeping habits and take control of their health and their lives.  After going home, several individuals gained as much as 25 pounds within a month of practising uropathy, eating better food and taking good care of themselves.  I really don't know how each person will react and I ask that you be very careful before making a decision with respect to medications."

Urine Therapy - Improving Your Skin Condition

After washing your face in the morning rubbing your plain urine on your face and neck every morning will over time give your face a new and younger look. You may not notice it at first, but other people will …saying, “oh your skin is beautiful what do you use on it” or “your skin is glowing” or “I can’t believe you’re the age you say you are—you haven’t got a wrinkle”. These are just some of the comments you can expect.

Now I know you’re wondering so I’ll just tell you…No with urine therapy you don’t have to worry about smelling the odor of the urine on your skin as it gets absorbed through the skin and leaves no odor. You skin will just have a ‘salty taste’ as though you had been sweating. Urine and sweat after all do have similar compositions.

Naturally along with drinking urine, it is advisable to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Eating fresh raw fruits, vegetables and leafy greens instead of devitalized fast food and other refined processed foods will allow your body to reap the benefits of a raw food diet. Your youthful skin will have a new zest. Regular exercise as simple as daily walking does much to promote your skin rejuvenation.

Urine Therapy - Source of Nourishment

Urine is considered to be an invaluable source of nourishment and healing that perhaps has been too controversial or not financially rewarding enough for it to be talked about and encouraged as a potent medicine. One's own urine, a living food, contains elements that are specific to one's body alone. The body is constantly producing a huge variety of antibodies, hormones, enzymes and other natural chemicals to regulate and control its functions and combat imbalances that one may not be aware of.

Clinical studies have proved that the thousands of critical body chemicals and nutrients that end up in urine reflect the individual body's functions. When re-utilised, these chemicals and nutrients act as natural vaccines, antibacterial, antiviral and anticarcinogenic agents as well as hormone balancers and allergy relievers. The information that urine contains therefore cannot be duplicated or derived from any other source. Just as nature produces no two people who are exactly the same, there are no two urine samples in the world that contain exactly the same components.

Urine therapy reviews Don't take this therapy lightly. Multiple sclerosis, colitis, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, cancer, hepatitis, hyperactivity, pancreatic insufficiency, psoriasis, eczema, diabetes, herpes, mononucleosis, adrenal failure, allergies and so many other ailments have been relieved through use of this therapy. After you overcome your initial gag response (I know I had one), you will realize that something big is going on, and if you are searching for health, this is an area to investigate. There are numerous reports and double blind studies which go back to the turn of the century supporting the efficacy of using urine for health.

How could something so simple make such a profound changes in peoples' lives? Does urine therapy have scientific evidence to support it?  My answer is that you have to try it to know it.

Urine Therapy - Its Biochemical Composition

Dr. Beatrice Bartnett believes that the urine has thousands of biochemical compounds, of which only about 200 were studied. Here is a short list of them made by Nexus Magazine: "The urine contains an incredible diversity of nutrients, enzymes, hormones, natural antibodies and immune defense agents of critical importance . Some of these components deserve further consideration - for example alantoine (which protects against sunstroke and is also in Symphytum officinale and aloe vera), creatinine (amino acid popular among bodybuilders) the hormone DHEA (with properties against aging, cancer and obesity, proven by research), melatonin (known for its calming effect of strengthening the physical body and immunity) sex hormones such as testosterone, androgen and estrogen. Bearing in mind such a diversity of ingredients it is easier to understand the effects of antibacterial, fungicidal, antiviral, antineoplastic, anticonvulsive and antispasmodic of the urine.''

Today there are already many rigorous scientific studies that have demonstrated the presence in urine of elements having therapeutic value. In the '60s, a Nobel Laureate, Albert Szent Gyorgi, found in the urine a substance called 3-metil-glioxal. This substance is capable of destroying cancer cells. In 1966, the American Society for Experimental Biology in Atlanta (USA) presented the results of some research on a substance called DirectIn - derived from the urine. When this substance is placed in a medium with cancer, cancer cells align and arrange themselves in straight lines. This had given hopes of curing cancer, because cancer cells live in disorder, growing and multiplying in a chaotic manner.

The kidneys produce certain substances that can be found in urine such as the enzymes that activates vitamin D, or even vitamin D - from which we can conclude that urine therapy can have an important role in the healing of rickets and other diseases which arise from the lack of vitamin D. The kidneys also produce a hormone called renin, whose function is to maintain vascular tone and blood pressure influences. Another substance that is found in the urine prostaglandin complex substance used in contraception. Prostaglandins decrease the blood pressure. Urokinase is another chemical found in urine which arguably prevents the formation of blood clots and is found to be valuable to prevent heart attacks in case of thrombophlebitis and pulmonary embolism.

Urine Therapy - Health Benefits

A lot of people have benefited from urine therapy and want to take it further. "Urine therapy makes you feel vital and energized. It has helped me boost my immunity levels. It also helps me to stay slim," says Salome. "I had developed chronic, degenerative disorders that couldn't be helped by conventional medicine and which threatened to permanently destroy my ability to work, function and simply enjoy life," says Martha Christy. "AUT has helped me in several complications, including menstrual problems, pelvic inflammation, ulcerative colitis, Chron's disease (colon inflammation), Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), thyroid disorders and mononucleosis."

Commenting on the unusualness of an allopathic doctor promoting this therapy, Dr Khare says: "You will be surprised to know that I treated many doctors with AUT and they were cured of their ailments. However, they do not acknowledge the fact for obvious reasons." Another condition in which AUT provides great relief is chronic amoebic dysentery, which is common in India. Chronic constipation, a problem of old age, is also treated by this method. Two World Urine Conferences have already been held the first in India in February 1996 and the last in Germany in May 1999. For a generation that's obsessed with the aerated drinks, we could definitely benefit much more from the 'Morarji cola'.

Urine Therapy - Self Vaccination

A number of hypotheses were suggested which can serve as the basis for further scientific research. According to Dr. Bartnett, applying urine therapy, using self-produced urine can be considered to be an extension of the methods of Jenner and Pasteur.

An important task of the immune system is to rid the human body of diseased or unusable substances that have developed during the course of an illness. When these substances reach healthy tissue, the serum or blood becomes stronger, the activity of leukocytes (white blood cells) increases, and the patient probably recovers. This phenomenon is known as auto-inoculation self-vaccination and can be seen as Mother Nature's methods of healing an illness without external intervention.

Urine therapy can also be seen as a from of self-vaccination: certain bodily substances which have been removed from the body, some of which may have been produced as a result of illness, are reintroduced into the body in small amounts. These substances are reabsorbed into the blood through either the intestines or the skin. According to this hypothesis, the immune system is then given the chance to react appropriately.
